Which pallet racking system is right for my warehouse?

The right system depends on SKU count, pallet turnover, stock rotation (FIFO or LIFO), lift-truck type and clear building height. Selective pallet racking gives 100% direct access for high-SKU operations, while mobile, drive-in and push-back systems trade some selectivity for much higher storage density. A layout study comparing pallet positions, picking time and safety clearances is the most reliable way to decide.

How much extra capacity can mobile pallet racking deliver?

Mobile pallet racking removes all but one working aisle per block, so it can come close to doubling pallet positions compared with conventional selective racking in the same footprint, while keeping access to every pallet. Actual gains depend on building dimensions, column grid and floor conditions.

Can existing racking be upgraded instead of replaced?

Yes. A warehouse retrofit can increase capacity and safety by re-profiling beam levels, adding height, converting areas to high-density or mobile storage, adding mezzanines and integrating semi-automated equipment, often while the site stays operational.

How often should pallet racking be inspected?

European standard EN 15635 recommends an inspection by a technically competent person at least every 12 months, supported by regular in-house visual checks by a trained Person Responsible for Racking Safety. Any damage should be reported and assessed immediately.

Pallet live rack (also called gravity rack) is a high density and low energy consumption storage system. The pallet is supported by steel rollers, then slide down from entrance side to exit along the sloping roller conveyor. The brake is installed in the roller system to control the sliding speed of pallet. The safety separator can separate the first pallet from the following one at the exit side so that forklift can easily take away the pallets.
